“What' s wrong squirt? Did someone steal all of your christmas cookies?” Harry is a little concerned at the sad expression he sees on his godson at his next visit. Seeing the kid so dejected makes him want to punch the person responsible.
“Come on tell me squirt. I am sure I can fix it.”
“Titania brought my card back.” His shoulders droop a little and Teddy tries to put a brave facade on, but Harry sees just how sad he is.
“Can it be that she was just too tired?” Titania is a wonderful owl but a little young and tends to fly back home if she can´t make a trip in one go instead of resting on her way. So depending on who the card was for it isn´t completely out of the question.
“Could be, is Wiltshir terribly far from here? I thought it was pretty close.”
Harry thinks for a moment about it, but then it is better to be honest sometimes. The card for Draco should have arrived at wiltshire and Titania shouldn´t have brought it back unless it was actively rejected.
“No it is not that far away. I´ll see what I can find out. Maybe your cousin has forgotten to remove the wards on Malfoy Manor. Can you imagine all of the postowls flying around with their deliveries and not finding it? That must be quite a picture they would make!”
Teddy laughs at the thougth of a flock of owls, but Harry worries.
Andromeda confirms that all attempts at communcation via owl have been returned so far, there is nothing for it Harry will have to pay Malfoy Manor a visit.
And of course he is not in the least bit curious.

Making the trip to Wiltshire brings about Memories that Harry would like to forget but they are like little gnats stuck in his brain. He tried to focus on the fact that England has gotten a cold spell lately and the icy air creates puffs of fog infront of his face. He would like a glas of mulled cider right now but he needs to find out why the Malfoys don´t want communication now that they are back.
But he doesn´t even get up to the Manor that he can see at the horizon. A soft plop sounds and he find himself face to face with Narcissa Malfoy. She has gotten older and pale, but she still holds herself regally.
She wears a soft cloak lined with fur, but something about her irritates Harry. It takes him a while but then he realizes that she is looking at him with a deep sadness that he can´t quite understand.
“Mister Potter, what an honor to receive your visit.”
“Hello Mrs Malfoy may I come in?”
“I would like to welcome you. But I am afraid that my son might make things a little difficult.”
“I`ll take my chances.” Harry smiles in what he hopes is a charming way.
“Very well then, don´t say that I didn´t warn you though.”
As they approach the Manor together Harry feels the questions rise in him.
What has happened that Draco refuses Christmas cards?
