Advent fic: Decoris anima (7/25)

Plum Pudding

Harry has another date with his favorite godson. Teddy has bought his excuse that Draco still needs more time but he has been silent. Currently he is drawing christmas pictures with his favorite crayons and Harry takes the chance to catch up with Andromeda
Andromeda is working on the plum pudding and applies lieberal amounts of brandy to it while Harry tells her what he has found so far.
“I think the curse was something like beauty and the beast you know?”
“The fairytale? You mean they wanted to show his inner uglyness? But do you think Draco Malfoy truly is such an ugly person on the inside?”
“No it doesn´t add up. The Draco I remember was not cruel and spiteful at the end. He was just like all of us, hurt and jaded, scared. A little blinder maybe to the hope that the new time was bringing.”
Andromeda is silent for a long time, pouring brandy over the plum pudding,
“So maybe the curse is something different.”
“What do you mean? Does It show his soul but not his uglyness, instead what?”
“We have stranger things than curses that show the hurts of our soul.”
They share a long look. Teddy's voice tears Harry from his musing.
“Draco needs Christmas. Not because of the presents, those are nice and not because of the cookies. But maybe believing in christmas can make him happy again? And if he is hurt then we have to help him. You always say that Christmas is about love and family. Well he is family and we can love him.”
Harry has to swallow around the lump that he has in his throat all of a sudden.
“You are right squirt. Maybe we can make him smile again, we all together,” They continue with their preparations of cookies, because even if they are just nice they are still an essential part of christmas.
Not to mention that Harry will need some of the famous Chocolate Cinnamon cookies to bribe Luna into letting him into the restricted section.
He will take the trip there tomorrow, before they`ll start the mission “Saving Draco's Christmas” he wants to know more about that curse and he hopes that Hogwarts will help.
